Bangladesh have strengthened their hopes of reaching to the quarter
final of ICC World Cup beating Scotland earlier today. The Asian team
got better of Associate Nation Scotland by six wickets in the match
played at Nelson in New Zealand. Batting first, Scotland made an
impressive total of 18 runs in regulatory 50 overs at the loss of six
wickets. Opening batsman Kyle Coetzer played an impressive innings of
156 runs for Scotland while Taskin Ahmad picked three wickets for
Bangladesh. Chasing a massive target of 319 runs, Bangladesh achieved
the feat with 11 balls to spare losing only four wickets. Tamim Iqbal
scored 95, Mahmadulla added 62 runs and Mushfikur Rahim got 60 runs for
the team. With this victory, Bangladesh now have five points from four
matches. Having earned two points beating Afghanishtan, Bangladesh
shared a point with Australia in the match cancelled due to rain.
Meanwhile, this was Scotland's fourth loss in four consecutive matches
despite their impressive batting performance. Defending Champions India
go head to head against West Indies in the only match scheduled for
tomorrow.
