Bodies of 12 Nepalis killed in the
suicide explosion in Afghanisthan's capital Kabul have been flown to
Kathmandu on a chartered flight of Nepal Airlines Corporation. The Air
Bus that took off this morning landed at 3p.m. at Tribhuwan
International Airport. Twenty-four Nepali nationals working in
Afghanisthan have also returned to Nepal on the same flight. It in
learnt they were also working as security guards at the Canadian Embassy
based in Kabul. The team which had gone to ferry the bodies and injured
comprised four officials of Nepali Army, three of Nepal Police, one of
the Home Ministry, one of the Foreign Affairs Ministry and one from the
Foreign Employment Promotion Board. Prime Minister K. P. Oli had also
reached the airport at the time. Talking with media-persons there, he
lamented on the murder of innocent Nepalis who had no connection with
terror, and added that decision on providing support to the victims'
families would be taken very soon. BITE... Home Minister Shakti Basnet,
other ministers and high ranking officials were also present at the
airport. Nine of the injured in Monday's Kabul attack have been taken to
New Delhi for treatment straight from Kabul via air ambulance. Injured
Krishna Bahadur Deuja and Man Bahadur Thapa were admitted at Apollo
Hospital in Delhi yesterday.
