Parliamentary Development Committee directs government to remove high physical structures near the TIA

Development Committee under the Legislature Parliament has directed the government to remove high physical structures near Tribhuvan International Airport, TIA within three months. The meeting of the Committee held today at Singhadurbar issued the directive to the government to this effect. Following discussions with the Secretary of Tourism Ministry and other concerned officials, the Committee, saying the high rise structures near the only international airport of the country had affected landing and take-off of aircraft, has directed the government to remove such structures. The meeting also directed the Tourism Ministry to prioritize upgrading of the airport and the Home Ministry and the Ministry for Local Development to play a collaborative role to solve the issues seen at the local level.
