Swami Prapannacharya passes at the age of 92; Last rites performed at Pashupati today itself
Doctorate scholar of the Vedas and eastern worship Swami Dr.
Prapannacharya has passed at the age of 92. Swami Prapannacharya, who
had been suffering from prostate and respiratory ailments as of late,
breathed his last at 3:30 a.m. today in Pashupati Mrigasthali premises
where he had been residing in the latter phase of his life. Born in
Panchthar, Phidim in 1979 B.S., Swami Prapannacharya began his studies
on Hindu religion at the age of 30 and pursued his research to PhD
degree in Vedas studies from Hindu University in Benaras in India. He
turned to life of a sage after earning the title of Acharya and
doctorate degree from Sanskrit University. Many works of Swami
Prapannacharya on Hindu religion have been published. Although his
actual name was Kale Rai, he came to be widely known Swami
Prapannacharya with his vast knowledge on Vedas and eastern studies. His
most popular work being 'Veda ma k cha?' (What is in the Veda?), his
other published works include 'Sammarga Darshan', Prachin Hindu Bigyan',
Kiratharu Mongolia bata ayeka saranarthi hoinan', and 'Bhagwan Byakhya'
among others. His body was laid at Pashupati Mrigasthali for last
respects following which the final rites were performed today itself.
