Meeting between United Party and Forum didn't ripe decision
The meeting between leftist coalition and Federal Socialist Forum, held to forge consensus on government expansion and constitution amendment, has again ended inconclusively. The meeting held at Prime Minister's official residence on Thursday, ended without any conclusion after Federal Socialist Forum demanded three ministries and written agreement on constitution amendment. Forum Chairman Upendra Yadav, speaking after the meeting, said no agreement could be forged on their demands. Forum co-chairman Rajendra Shrestha said the effort on forging consensus will continue by holding internal discussion.
CPN-UML and CPN-MC have said they can give the Forum only two ministries and regarding forging written agreement on statute amendment, they have preferred not to reach agreement on any particular issues saying the constitution can be amended as per the requirement and rationale. The meeting was attended by PM K.P. Sharma Oli, Forum Chairman Upendra Yadav among others.
