Nepal to face Afghanistan in ICC World Cup qualifiers
Nepal is slated to face popular rival Afghanistan in its third match scheduled for Saturday under the ICC World Cup Cricket qualifiers ongoing in Zimbabwe. The match between Nepal and Afghanistan will be held at the Bulawayo Athletic Club. The match is scheduled to kick off at 1:15 p.m. Nepali Standard Time. So far Nepal and Afghanistan have played 7 one day cricket matches against each other. Of the seven Afghanistan has won 6 while Nepal has won only 1. Nepal is under pressure to win this match to secure any chances of advancing to the tournament's super six. Nepal has lost its earlier two matches. Nepal must win both the remaining matches in order to receive the international one-day cricket recognition. Nepal faced 116 runs defeat in its first match against Zimbabwe and lost the second by 4 wickets against Scotland. Afghanistan which has already received the recognition of test-playing nation lost its matches against, Scotland, Zimbabwe and Hong-Kong under the tournament. Following its match with Afghanistan Nepal would only remain to face Hong-Kong under the group stage. Three teams standing top from the two groups would advance to the super-six of which two top teams would qualify for the World-Cup Cricket.
