Police Club Wins the Trophy of National Volleyball Tournament
Host Armed Police has won the trophy of Armed Police Inspector General 5th National Open Women's Volleyball tournament. Armed Police defeated New Diamond Academy in the finals with a set of 24-29,25-28 and 25-19 to secure the tournament trophy. Likewise, Nepal Police became third defeating Tribhuwan Army club in a set of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-13. Tournament winner received cash prize of Rs 250 thousand, while the first runner-up received Rs 125 thousand and the second runner-up received the consolation prize of Rs 50 thousand. Binita Budhathoki of the Armed Police was adjudged best player of the tournament and bagged a Scooter in reward. In the tournament, Armed Police's Newika Chaudhary was adjudged best spiker, New Diamonds Prativa Mali best server, Manisha Tamang of Armed Police best defense, Sarswati Chaudhary of Armed Police best blocker, New Diamond's Kripa Adhikari best setter and Armed Police team coach Gyanendra Bahadru Bista was adjudged best coach.
Meanwhile, Ratnjit Tamang has won the 4th Nationwide Krishna Mohan Memorial Open Badminton tournament. In the finale held at Armed Police headquarters at Halchowk, Kathmandu, Ratnajit Tamang of Tribhuwan Army Club defeated Dipesh Dhami in a set of 22-20 and 21-11 to secure the tournament trophy.
Likewise, the trophy of 10th Sahaveer Memorial Open Lawn Tennis tournament has been won by Pranabh Khanal of Tribhuwan Army. Pranav defeated Jitendra Pariyar from Lalitpur in a set of 7-5, 3-6 and 6-0. Towards Women's singles Mayanka Rana of Nepal Police Club bagged the trophy defeating fellow club member Maahika Rana in the finals in a set of 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3.
