At a time when the constitution making process in the country is
shrouded by confusion, Prime Minister Shushil Koirala and main
opposition leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' have attended a same
programme today. Both leaders were present at the programme marking the
golden jubilee of Chitwan, Shivanagar- based Narayani Bidhyamandir
Higher Secondary School. Unified-Maoist Chairman Prachanda, who is also
an ex- student of the school, was felicitated by Prime Minister Koirala
at the programme. Addressing the event, PM Koirala cited peace,
constitution and development as the needs of the country at the present
hour, claiming on an early promulgation of a new constitution that would
guarantee the rights of every citizen. BITE... Similarly, Chairman
Prachanda said the presence of himself and the prime minister at the
same rostrum would send a positive message across the country, adding
that the dialogue would be resumed upon the leaders' return to
Kathmandu. He expressed belief that their encounter in Chitwan would
take the constitution making process towards a more conducive direction.
