It has been reported that that it will take three more days for complete
improvement of weather condition across the country. According to
Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the hovering of the humid air
developed from the Arabian Sea has resulted in incessant rainfall across
the country since yesterday. It is learnt that the weather condition
will remain unchanged for two more days. Upper hilly and mountain
districts of eastern and central Nepal have witnessed rainfall and
snowfall today as well, while most places in Karnali zone have also seen
snowfall. The snow collected three feet deep so far is said to be
continuing in these places. Elsewhere, Humla's Talcha Airport is also
covered by snow which has accumulated up to two feet deep. Local
communication mediums have gone out of operation due to the power cut
for two days. Snowfall in Jumla district has halted vehicular movement
and resulted in cancellation of flights. On the contrary, farmers are
pleased with the snowfall, anticipating a good harvest of fruits and
increase in fertility in fallow land. Life in Mugu district has been
affected due to consistent snowfall since yesterday afternoon. Academic
institutions have been closed with the snowy weather condition proving
unfavourable for people to venture out of homes.
