Nepal Medical Students Society picketed Prime Minister's official residence Baluwatar today in solidarity to Dr. Govinda KC's fast-unto-death protest at TU Teaching Hospital. The students of medicine who had reached Baluwatar with a rally submitted a ten-point demand letter to the Prime Minister as well. The letter includes demands including restricting the affiliation of new medical colleges prior to formulation of medical education policy and establishment of a medicine university, along with implementation of reports submitted by study committee for feasibility of medical colleges and national standard determination committee for medical education among others. Students participating in the rally had carried placards with the slogan "One question to all 30 million Nepalis: Twirls of lawmakers or public health?". Meanwhile, the health condition of Dr. KC, who has been in protest for the last four days, has deteriorated. Other doctors have informed that his blood pressure has dropped and ketones were seen in his urine. It was informed that Dr. KC is currently only on normal saline water.
