The government has decided to improvise the policy related to the use of
chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The government's latest move
follows the demise of six members of a same family in Dhading a few days
ago due to consumption of wheat that was treated with fertilizers. The
cabinet meeting held today has also decided to provide free treatment to
the patients of the mishap and relief to the families of the deceased.
Experts, for long, have been warning against the fatal consequences that
people may be subject to due to indiscriminate sale and use of chemical
fertilizers. The cabinet meeting has also decided to provide facility
for the victim girls of the acid attack to give their SLC exams in their
hospital rooms. It has directed to provide appropriate amount of
compensation to the family of 6-year-old Puja Sah- who passed away while
undergoing treatment after being raped in her home district of Bara.
The government has also decided to expedite works at Nijgadh
International Airport and appoint Ranjan Krishna Aryal as the secretary
of the Commission for Inquiry on Enforced Disappearance.
