Dr. Bhattarai has claimed that the existing political deadlock

Unified CPN-Maoist senior leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has claimed that the existing political deadlock cannot be resolved by going for a majority voting process. Talking to media-persons at a programme organised in the capital today on the occasion of Gyanu Dahal Memorial Day, he said the constitution could in no way be endorsed through a majority process. He stressed on promulgating the constitution by abandoning the majority process and forging consensus among political parties. Saying there was no alternative to reaching agreement among parties, he said serious efforts would be made for consensus upon the return of Unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kama Dahal 'Prachanda' from China.  Gyanu Dahal Souvenir was released and a programme of blood donation organised during the occasion today. Unified-Maoist Chairman Prachanda's eldest daughter Gyanu Dahal had passed away a year ago due to cancer. Meanwhile, speaking elsewhere in Pokhara at a programme organised by Unified CPN-Maoist, Kaski also today, leader Bhattarai said his party was ready to go for voting process on the debated constitutional issues provided there was agreement on the one issue of federalism.
