Inaugurating the meeting of CPN-UML's

Home Minister Bamdev Gautam has claimed of provocative publicity doing rounds by associating the attempt at modernising the visa process with nationalism and sensitivity of the country. Inaugurating the meeting of CPN-UML's Area Information Council in the capital today, Home Minister Gautam said there was no rationale behind viewing an exercise being carried out in more than one hundred countries around the world from the perspective of nationalism in Nepal. He claimed that the governments or private companies had been practicing the online visa process around the world.  Citing the inefficacy to conduct the work from the country's Immigration Department, Minister Gautam said a separate office of a private company would be established and a pre-determined time allotted to it to finish technical works. He also advocated for bringing the online visa process into practice to penetrate the allegation that Nepal was being used as a transit point by terrorists and smugglers. Protest has surfaced inside Home Minister Gautam's own party CPN-UML against the government's preparation to assign the responsibility of the online visa process to a foreign private company.
