All participating teams claim on winning the first SAF Under-19 Football; Nepal to take on Bhutan in the opener tomorrow
All six teams participating in the first SAF Under-19 Football
Championship have claimed of clinching the title. At a press conference
held at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur, prior to the tournament
kick-off, head coaches of all teams said the chance on winning the cup
was equal among all South Asian teams. Preparations are complete for the
first Under-19 SAF Championship Football Tournament set to kick off in
Kathmandu tomorrow. Six South Asian teams participating in the
tournament have been divided into two groups. Host Nation Nepal, along
with Bangladesh and Bhutan, form Group A, while India, Afghanistan and
Maldives make up Group B. Other two South Asian nations Pakistan and Sri
Lanka will be staying out of the tournament due to internal reasons.
Nepal takes on Bhutan in the inaugural match tomorrow which will
kick-off at 3.30 in the afternoon at ANFA Complex. The tickets are
available at Rs. 300 for VIP section and 200 for general seats. With
previously determined venue Dashrath Stadium- the only ground in the
country of international standard- affected by the major earthquake of
April 25, all matches of the tournament will be played at ANFA Complex
in Satdobato
