Strike enforced with demand for Hindu nation paralyzes life in Eastern region
Normal life in Eastern Development region was thrown out of gear due to the strike enforced by Hindu Nation Struggle Committee. The struggle committee, which has made Itahari in Sunsari its centre of protest ongoing for the last 15 days, called the strike saying the government had been indifferent toward their demand. The effect of the strike was seen in districts of eastern Nepal including Sunsari, Morang, Jhapa, Ilaam, Panchthar, Taplejung, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Sankhuwasabha and Tehrathum among others. Transport, industries and academic institutions were all shut due to the strike, while strike enforcers held demonstrations at a number of places.
