India continues to effect strict measures on fuel imports to Nepal; Containers of consumables to enter Nepal via Rasuwagadhi transit as well from tomorrow

Owing to the unofficial blockade being imposed by India on Nepal, imports from main transits across the country were affected today as well. Albeit some of the goods laden vehicles were allowed to enter yesterday, none of the fuel vehicles were imported today. Only tanker carrying aviation fuel and four goods laden vehicles came via Nepalgunj- Rupaidiya customs today. Two diesel tankers and one vehicles carrying oxygen along with 65 goods laden vehicles entered via Bhairahawa-Sunauli customs. However, six dozen vehicles of petroleum products along with same number of gas bullets are stranded at the other side due to obstruction from Indian side. 35 goods laden vehicles entered via Kakdvitta-Panitanki border point in the east. Also from Biratnagar-Jogbani customs, vegetables, fruits, food products and construction materials were imported in 29 vehicles. Meanwhile in Birgunj, the local administration is to continue imposing curfew at night albeit it was lifted throughout the day.
