Unified-Maoist decides to dismiss former vice-chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai from party
Unified CPN-Maoist has decided to dismiss former vice-chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai from the party. The Standing Committee meeting of the party held at Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence at Lazimpat cited Bhattarai's recent activities which were against the interest of the party in its decision to discharge the latter from the party. In its reaction to Bhattarai's recent activities on advocating for creation of a new force, the party had asked for clarification from its former vice-chairman, the response to which it deemed dis-satisfactory, thereby leading to the party to take the decision, informed Unified-Maoist's General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara. BITE... Similarly, the meeting has also decided to dismiss other leaders supporting Bhattarai's activities including Ramchandra Jha, Ramrijhan Yadav, Mahendra Paswan and Ramkumar Sharma among others, from the party. Saying the defection of a few members would not affect the party, the meeting has decided to seek clarification from other members who have been voicing discontent on the party's leadership. Forty-five leaders had defected from the party yesterday in their bid to participate in Dr. Bhattarai's drive towards creation of a new force.
