Discussion in Parliament over the non-trust act
Discussion is underway in the
Parliament on the vote of no-confidence motion tabled against Prime
Minister K. P. Oli. Parliamentarians have been airing their respective
views- for and against- the no-trust motion. While parliamentarians of
the ruling parties are defending the prime minister, parliamentarians of
CPN-Maoist Centre and Nepali Congress have been trying to prove the
rationale behind the vote of no-confidence. Congress lawmaker Ramesh
Lekhak accused the incumbent government of failing to carry out any work
in the interest of the people, and added that there was no option but
to remove the government. Citing lack of rule of law and growing
corruption under the current government, he accused UML of politicizing
in every sector. Meanwhile, UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has also
accused the government of infringement of politics in many sectors. He
however said that the parties did not have to rush to bring the vote of
no-confidence, but should have made efforts for formation of a
consensual government. Discussion on the no-confidence motion brought by
Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre will continue tomorrow as well.
