Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre
have registered a vote of no-confidence against Prime Minister K. P.
Oli at the Legislature Parliament. The vote of no-confidence against the
prime minister was tabled with CPN-Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal as
the one to table the proposal and Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba
as his supporter. The document contains signatures of 254
parliamentarians from Nepali Congress, CPN-Moist Centre and CPN-United.
The central committee meeting of Nepali Congress, held this morning, had
decided to move ahead with the vote of no-confidence if PM Oli did not
resign immediately. The meeting had also decided to go for formation of a
government under the leadership of Pushpa Kamal Dahal. It has also
endorsed the 7-point agreement reached between Congress and Maoist
Centre. Following the meeting,
Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak said all
agreements- written or verbal- forged between Congress and Maoist Centre
had been endorsed. BITE... Likewise, the parliamentary party meeting of
CPN-Maoist Centre held this morning had also decided to move ahead with
the vote of no-confidence if PM Oli did not step down. However, CPN-UML
has decided not to tender the PM's resignation but instead defend the
PM in the vote of no-confidence. The meeting of UML had decided to move
ahead as per the constitutional process. BITE... Meanwhile, ministers
from the CPN-Maoist Centre have collectively submitted their
resignations to Prime Minister Oli.
