Saptari district inundated by flood

Various parts of Saptari district have been inundated by the flood triggered by incessant rainfall. The flood in Khado river has swept away more than 125 houses in wards no 6 and 7 of Sakarpura VDC. The VDC was submerged after the soared river flooded the embankment in ward no.6. District Police Office, Saptari has informed that the flood has swept away almost 6 bighas of cultivable land. It has also informed that water inundating 125 homes has reached height of 2 feet.
Meanwhile, flood in Mahuli and Sundari rivers has crossed the Guide Embankment of Chandra Canal through three divisions. The flood has surpassed the 20 meter embankment in Tulsi Chowk, Saptakoshi municipality, 70 meters in Raghunathpur, Kanchanrup municipality and 170 meters in a section at Trikol VDC.
