11th national convention of Nepal Students Union (NSU) scheduled to begin today has been put off for tomorrow.
The closed session of the 11th national convention of Nepali Congress- aligned youth wing Nepal Students Union NSU scheduled to begin today has been put off for tomorrow. The closed session has been postponed owing to the debate on the student union's representatives. The effort being put in by the party's leadership to resolve the debate on representatives of the union in 11 districts has so far been futile. Leaders of NSU are of the belief that the pertaining problem will be settled by tomorrow. The national convention of Nepal Students Union, the holding of which had been pushed further time and again before this, began yesterday in the capital. Factional discussions on making the claim to the union's leadership have intensified, while Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ramchandra Poudel and leaders Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Khum Bahadur Khadka are busy in preparations to take candidates close to them to the helm. Candidates aspiring for the chair position include Nain Singh Mahar and Jit Jung Basnet of Deuba's faction, Kshitiz Bhandari, Manojmani Acharya, Nilkantha Rijal, Ananda Tripathi and Dipak Bhattarai from Poudel's faction, Kandan Kafle from Sitaula's faction and Subharam Basnet from Khadka's faction.
