Seven killed as Fishtail Air helicopter crashes in Nuwakot where Pilot, patient and a child were deceased.

Seven people were killed when a helicopter of Fishtail Air ferrying a sick patient from Gorkha to Kathmandu crashed in Nuwakot today. The helicopter with call sign 9NA KA which had boarded a woman in her post-natal stage from Sirdibaas VDC-9, Philim in Gorkha crashed at a hill in Betini at Madanpur VDC-8 in Nuwakot. Twenty-five-year-old pilot of the helicopter Ranjan Limbu, 19-year-old Priti Gurung who was in her post-natal stage, her five-day-old child, her in-laws 60-year-old Kirtaman Gurung and 56-year-old Agyani Gurung were killed in the crash. Likewise, Laxmi Gurung- who took the chopper from Kathmandu, and Nisha Tamang- a nurse working at the health post in Gorkha, also lost their lives in the crash. Chief District Officer of Nuwakot Bishnu Prasad Pokhrel said that a chopper from Kathmandu and police personnel from Nuwakot had been mobilised in the immediate wake of the accident. The ill-fated helicopter had taken off from Gorkha at 12:10 p.m. and went out of contact at 12:35 p.m. Bodies of all the deceased have been brought to Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu for post-mortem. The site of the crash is in the central part between Kathmandu and Nuwakot's headquarters Bidur.
