IGP urges people to be alert


IGP Upendrakant Aryal has urged people to be alert saying conspiracy was being hatched to defame the police institution under false pretext involving his name. Speaking at a programme organized to mark the 11th Metropolitan Police Day in the capital today, IGP Aryal said efforts were being made to defame the whole police institution and himself, and urged people not to believe the baseless rumors. He also suggested the police personnel to take ahead their works by ignoring misleading information. IGP Aryal also said it was now time to hold discussion on eliminating the disorder brought in through social networking sites. Also speaking at the programme, President of Federation of Nepalese Journalists FNJ Mahendra Bista said it was more important to make police service and crime investigation process technology-friendly, rather than giving message of peace by deploying large volume of police personnel on the road. IGP Aryal gave away prizes to police personnel for their noted service. SSP of Metropolitan Police- Crime Division Sarbendra Khanal was felicitated with the award for the best crime investigation .
