Nepalese Army soldier bags Lumbini Peace Marathon trophy

Homlal Shrestha of Nepali Army has bagged the trophy of the 4th Lumbini Peace Marathon. Shrestha completed the marathon from Kapiwastu till Gautam Budhha's birthplace in Lumbini in 2 hours 54 minutes and 53 seconds. Likewise, Hari Prasad Rimal and Khagendra Bhatta, both from Nepali Army secured the second and the third positions respectively. The trophy towards the half-marathon was confirmed by Tirtha Pun of Gorkha Rifles of the Indian military. Likewise Sunil Thapa registered win towards under-16 five-kilometer run. The marathon was organized with the objective to raise awareness on conservation and betterment of the Buddhist heritage sites in Lumbini and Kapilwastu. A total of 94 participants from Nepal, India, China, Hong-Kong, America, Germany, South-Korea had taken part in the marathon.
