Tribhuvan Army club advances to finale of Jhapa Gold cup football

Departmental team Tribhuwan Army Club has advanced to the finale of the 3rd Jhapa Gold-Cup football tournament. In the second semi-final clash held on Saturday, Army club defeated Manang Marsyangdi club by 1-nil to secure its berth in the tournament finale. Army opened their account early in the match with their goal in the 2nd minute. Navyug Shrestha netted the ball in a fantastic finish to a long pass by Bikash Tamang. Navyug's goal became the decisive goal for Army. Army's goalkeeper Bikesh Kuthu was adjudged man of the match. He received a cash prize of Rs 25,000. With the win, Army has secured the runner-up position along with the cash prize of Rs 600 thousand. The tournament finale is slated for Monday with host team Jhapa-11 and Army club vying for the trophy.
