Nepal suffers 3rd consecutive defeat in ICC against Afghanistan

Nepal has suffered its third consecutive defeat in the ICC World Cup Cricket qualifiers ongoing in Zimbabwe. Nepal lost its third game against popular rival Afghanistan by 6 wickets. Nepal taking to bat first after winning the toss put up a total score of 194 runs before losing all wickets with only 1 ball remaining to be delivered for the game. Captain Paras Khadka scored the highest 74 runs. Likewise Dipendra Sing Airee scored 32 while Aarif Shekh and Gyanendra Malla both added 23 runs each. Chasing the target of 195 runs, Afghanistan reached the mark by 39th over at a loss of 4 wickets. For Nepal Dipendra Singh Airee took 2 wickets while Karan K.C. and Sandeep Lamichhane picked 1 each. Following the third consecutive defeat in the group stages, Nepal's chances of advancing to the Super-Six stage has nearly come to an end. Nepal has only one match remaining against Hong-Kong under the group stage. Nepal which remains very weak in net run-rate as well, has slim chances of advancing further even though it registers win over Hong-Kong in the last group stage match slated for Monday.
