CPN-UML has expressed alarm at the comments relative to the party made
by the leaders of Unified CPN-Maoist and other opposition parties at the
mass gathering of the opposition Front held at the open air theatre
yesterday. The UML's Standing Committee's meeting held today at the
party's headquarters in Balkhu said the accusations made on the party
and its leaders by the opposition leaders were baseless. Emerging from
the meeting, UML Secretary Pradip Gyawali said the Standing Committee
would dwell on holding discussions with Nepali Congress on whether to
begin dialogue or resume the process at the deferred Constituent
Assembly meeting. BITE... The Standing Committee of CPN-UML has also
appointed Radhakrishna Mainali and Bijaya Subba as members of the
party's Central Committee. Mainali had held a ministerial portfolio
during the royal regime. He was also an advisor in the Unified
CPN-Maoist, while Bijaya Subba was the vice-chairman of Federal
Socialist Party led by Ashok Rai. The appointed central members took
their oath today itself.
