German football legend Holger Obermann has provided assistance to a
Nepali youth football programme. Obermann, who had played a vital
helping role for the development of Nepali football for four years
during the 1990's, has helped a youth football programme in Kapan this
time around. Obermann has handed over nearly 300,000 rupees he received
from FIFA and some football materials as assistance for the construction
of a football field at Mount Kailash School under the Nepal Youth
Programme. Nearly 50 youths are involved in the programme brought about
with the incentive of Rajiv Nepali who has played semi-professional
football in Germany. The youths will be imparted life-skills, according
to campaigner Rajiv Nepali.
