CPN-UML has warned of leaving the government if the situation was not
favourable to promulgate the constitution from the Constituent Assembly.
The meeting of UML's Standing Committee today deliberated on stepping
down from the executive level in case of failure to create an
environment to endorse the constitution from the incumbent CA at the
earliest. The UML party is to hold discussion with Nepali Congress
tomorrow on issues including resuming the CA meeting and coming up with a
common vote of the two parties for dialogue. BITE... Similarly, UML has
also concluded that opposition parties including the Unified CPN-Maoist
were not sensitive towards the effort to draft the constitution through
dialogue. The party has cited the opposition's unwillingness on taking
any step for dialogue or responding to the summons for the same despite
the CA's long adjournment as reasons why the oppositions were not
serious on holding discussions. BITE... In course of the meeting, UML
Chair K. P. Oli administered the oath taking of newly appointed central
members of the party Radhakrishna Mainali and Bijaya Subba.
