The Committee formed for the recommendation of names for selection of
governor of Nepal Rastra Bank has recommended three names. The Committee
formed under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat
has recommended financial adviser of Prime Minister Dr. Chiranjibi Nepal
and deputy governors of the central bank Gopal Kafle and Maha Prasad
Adhikari for the post of governor. The cabinet meeting to be held
tomorrow will appoint one of the three recommended persons as the
governor of the Rastra Bank. The Committee members include Finance
Minister Mahat, former governor Himalaya Shumsher Rana and Economic
expert Parthiveshwor Timalsina. The five-year tenure of Rastra Bank's
Governor Yubraj Khatiwada is due to expire tomorrow.
