All preparations for the School Leaving Certificate SLC exams set to
begin tomorrow are complete, according to Exam Controllers Office, Sano
Thimi. Exam controller Bishnu Bahadur Dware has informed that all exam
materials including question papers and answer sheets have been sent to
all 75 districts across the country. A total of 574, 685 examinees will
be appearing for this year's exams, among whom 212,504 boys and 213,710
girls will be writing the papers as regular students. Similarly, 59,253
boys and 85,930 girls are taking the exams towards the exempted
category. A total of 3,288 students with strengths of 2,037 boys and
1,251 girls will be giving the exams towards technical studies.
Kathmandu will have the maximum number of students appearing for the
exams standing at a total number of 34,587, while Manang has the least
number of examinees- only 74. 1,862 exam centres have been designated
for this year's exams, among which, the maximum 91 centres are in
Kathmandu, while Manang and Mustang have only one centre each. As a
measure to make the examination well-managed and take action on ones who
are found cheating or assisting in cheating, a 35-point exam code of
conduct has been prepared and circulated across the country, and anyone
found breaching the conduct will be subject to action, informed exam
controller Dware.
