Prime Minister Shushil Koirala and leader of main opposition Unified
CPN-Maoist have held a parley this morning. During the meeting held at
the PM's official residence at Baluwatar, Unified- Maoist Chair
Prachanda urged Prime Minister Koirala to create environment for
dialogue prior to the declaration of the next phase of agitation by the
opposition Front. Chairman Prachanda urged the prime minister to summon
talks once again with a letter issued with the will reflecting readiness
to promulgate the constitution on the basis of consensus as per the
agreements forged in the past and the provisions of the Interim
Constitution. Responding to this, Prime Minister Koirala expressed
commitment on creating the environment very soon after holding talks
with the parties in his alliance. Saying the accomplishment of important
mandate of constitution endorsement could not be delayed, the prime
minister also urged Chairman Prachanda to help in creating a conducive
environment. Today's parley was scheduled during a programme in Chitwan
yesterday which both the leaders had attended together.
