Discussion on the modified preliminary draft of the constitution in progress at the CA
Discussions on the modified report of preliminary draft of the constitution presented by the Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee is being held at the Constituent Assembly. Discussions begun on the modified report of the draft after Chairman of the Dialogue Committee Dr. Baburam Bhattarai proposed for a discussion on the report. However, RPP-Nepal and a few Madhesh centered parties have boycotted the discussion. Prior to the discussion, Federal Socialist Forum Chairman Upendra Yadav warned of a nationwide agitation if demarcation of the states were against the sentiments of the citizens. Citing killing of people in Surkhet and oppression in places including Jumla, he said that agitation was to begin in other regions of the country as well. Suggesting against having any perception of endorsing a constitution by oppressing the citizens, he warned that the citizens could not be stopped even if the senior leaders of four major political parties went to the public.
