PM Oli expands council of ministers; 7 ministers added along with three DPMs


Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has expanded the cabinet. 7 ministers and one state minister along with three deputy prime ministers were added today. President Bidhya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to all the members of the expanded cabinet amid a function organized at Sheetal Niwas today. Among the deputy prime ministers appointed today are Bhim Rawal of CPN-UML who is also the Minister for Defense, Chitra Bahadur K.C. of Janamorcha Nepal who is also the Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation and C.P. Mainali of CPN-ML who is also Minister for Children and Social Welfare. Similarly, CPN-UML's Bishnu Poudel has been appointed as Minister for Finance, Sherdhan Rai- Minister for Communications and Information, Shanta Manavi- Minister without portfolio and Ananda Pokharel- Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Likewise, Ram Janam Chaudhary of Forum Democratic, who was the Minister without portfolio earlier, has been assigned responsibility of Ministry for Health and Population, CPN-UML's Satya Narayan Mandal- Ministry of Youth and Sports and Bishendra Pashwan has been given responsibility of Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. Likewise, Kumar Subba of RPP-Nepal has been appointed the Minister for Land Reform and Management and Megh Raj Nepali Nishad the Minister of state for Industry and Mustaq Aalam the Minister of state for Health and Population. Oli who was elected the prime minister on October 12 has expanded the cabinet for second time.
