Construction of Amlekhgunj-Raxaul pipeline continues
Construction works of Amlekhgunj-Raxaul pipeline has resumed, after pipes and technical equipment started being imported. Nepal Oil Corporation, Bara has informed that the pipe installing work is to start from Pathlaiya, Bara. The pipeline from India's border town Raxaul to Amlekhgunj, Bara will be 36 kilometer long. It is to be constructed from right part of a bypass road from Shankaracharya gate, Birgunj to Gandak Nahar and then left part of Gandak Amlekhgunj road section of Tribhuwan Rajpath. The Corporation has said there will be no obstruction like compensation, as the pipeline will be 25 meter inside the road. The pipeline is to be constructed at an investment of INR 3.5 billion of which 2 billion will be contributed by Indian side whereas 750 million will be contributed by Nepali side.
