Veteran Litterateur Indra Bahadur expired at the age of 90
Veteran Litterateur Indra Bahadur Rai has passed away at the age of 90. He died of cardiac arrest at his house in Darjeeling, India on Tuesday evening. Rai was born on February 3,1927, near Baalaasan river of Kharsaang. Rai has made a great contribution in Nepali language and literature. He had been tackling with health problems since past some years. He had also come to Nepal for heath-checkups. Pioneer of Lilaa Writing and Creator of dimensional literature, Rai's major works include 'Bipana Katipaya', 'Aja Ramita Chha', 'Kathputaliko Man' among others. He had also contributed in the four decade-long language movement in India to introduce Nepali language as one of the national language of Indian constitution. Tribhuwan University had honored Rai in 2072 with 'Maanaartha Bidhyavaarini'. The death of Rai has caused irreparable loss in Nepali literature. It is informed that the funeral of Rai will take place in Darjeeling on Thursday.
